About these terms

These terms govern your use of the Digital Excellence Awards submission and judging portal, run by the Federation of Information Technology Industry, Sri Lanka (FITIS) (“FITIS”, “we”). By verifying your email, signing in or submitting an entry, you agree to them.

They sit alongside the rules and category guidelines published for the awards on digitalexcellenceawards.lk. Where the two differ about the awards themselves, the published awards rules apply.

2

Who can submit

Entries are open only to organisations registered for the Digital Excellence Awards 2026 on digitalexcellenceawards.lk. The portal shows the categories your registration covers; you cannot enter a category you did not register for.

Registration, category choices and any fees are handled on the awards website, not here. FITIS may check that an entry is eligible.

3

Your account

  • You verify your email and mobile with one-time codes, and may set a password for later visits.
  • Keep your password and codes private. Anything done in your session is treated as done by you.
  • If you act for your organisation, you confirm you are authorised to do so.
  • Tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think someone else has used your account.
4

Preparing your entry

  • Every entry has an entry summary; the five flagship awards add a questionnaire with a maturity self-assessment.
  • Your work saves automatically as a draft. You can change it as often as you like until you submit.
  • Answers must stay within the character and word limits shown. Evidence uploads are optional.
  • Keep your own copies of the files you upload.
5

Submitting

When you submit, you confirm that the information in your application is accurate and complete, and that you are authorised to submit it on behalf of your organisation.

  • A submitted entry is locked and goes to the judging panel. It cannot be edited afterwards.
  • We email you a confirmation with a PDF of your complete application, and you can download it from the portal at any time.
  • Entries must be submitted before the deadline set by FITIS. Please don't leave it to the last minute.
6

Your content and evidence

You are responsible for what you submit. You confirm that:

  • You have the right to share the text, data and files in your entry.
  • It does not include another party's confidential information without their permission.
  • Your files are free of viruses or anything else harmful.

FITIS may remove content that breaks these terms or the awards rules.

7

Ownership and use of your entry

You keep ownership of your entry. You give FITIS permission to store and copy it, and to share it with judges and administrators, for the purpose of running the awards.

If you are shortlisted or win, FITIS may announce your organisation's name, the category and your initiative's name. Other details of your entry are published only with your agreement.

The portal itself — its software, design and the Digital Excellence Awards branding — belongs to FITIS and its developer, Veloce Technology (Pvt) Ltd, and may not be copied.

8

Judging

  • Entries are evaluated by judging panels under the awards rules.
  • Judges keep entries confidential and must declare any conflict of interest.
  • FITIS's decision on the results is final. Individual scores and judges' comments may not be shared.
9

Acceptable use

Please don't:

  • Try to access accounts, entries or parts of the portal that are not yours.
  • Interfere with the portal, overload it, or probe it for weaknesses.
  • Copy content from the portal by automated means.
  • Pretend to be someone else, or submit for an organisation you do not represent.

FITIS may suspend access or disqualify an entry that breaks these terms or the awards rules.

10

Availability

We work to keep the portal available and your drafts safe, but it may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons beyond our control. Submit well before the deadline. FITIS is not responsible for an entry that could not be submitted because of a problem on your side, such as your connection or device.

11

Liability

The portal is provided to help you take part in the awards. To the extent the law allows, FITIS and Veloce Technology (Pvt) Ltd are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from its use. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12

Privacy

How we handle your information is explained in our Privacy Policy.

13

Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Colombo, Sri Lanka.

We may update these terms. The “last updated” date above shows the latest version, which applies from that date.
